The Klarus Mi7 is a nice bright EDC flashlight that can max out at 700 lumens. It is a nice compact and durable pocket torch that is flexible with its battery compatibility.
It is brighter than other competing EDC lights like the Fenix EO5, Olite S1 and Streamlight MicroStream while staying within the same price point.
The light is great for night walks in the woods, search and rescue, emergencies and home. Continue reading our Klarus Mi7 review below or check it out now on Amazon.

This Klarus light has a warm center - not too hot - but warm enough to light up your target and enough flood for to light up a room. It’s great for lighting up an entire room, or hallway at night.
The double AA battery doesn’t provide a huge difference between high and low modes. Both can light up a room effectively, but the low-mode is marginally less bright than high.
Maximum Throw Distance
Peak Beam Intensity
The flashlight has a peak beam intensity of 3025 cd/lm (candela per lumen) - which explains the not-so-hot center spot this flashlight has.
Functionality
The Mi7 light has a side-switch button. The switch is a bit small and hard to press; we would prefer a tail-switch but that could just be preference.
Once you turn the flashlight on, it will start off on the high mode, and you can cycle down to low and then moonlight.
From off, you can double press the button for strobe and double press again for SOS. The downside to this is that there’s no immediate access to SOS, but we imagine strobe would probably be more useful.
There’s a lock function to prevent accidental illumination that you can switch on by holding the side button until you see flashing. You can triple tap to unlock. When already unlocked, you can also triple tap to see the current battery capacity.
Material and Durability
Material
The Klarus Mi7 is made with aerospace aluminum alloy with military grade anodizing. The torch has a hardened and scratch resistant lens, stainless steel switch and diamond-shaped knurling.
Waterproof / Impact Resistance
The flashlight is waterproof up to 2 meters submerged underwater with an IPX-8 rating. It is also incredibly sturdy and impact resistant up to 1 meter.
Battery
As mentioned above, this torch is compatible with both 14500 and double AA batteries. The 14500 will give you a brighter maximum and a significantly longer runtime than the double AA.
It has a convenient function of automatically dropping down output to prevent over-heating. The Klarus Mi7 will go for approximately 3 minutes on the highest output until the batter or voltage goes down to a certain percentage.
The design allows for battery installation by unscrewing the head, rather than the tail-end. The tail-can can also act as a tail-stand.
Accessories
When bought from Amazon, you’ll get a package with the flashlight, 14500 battery, manual, lanyard, keychain and spare O-rings.
Conclusion: Our Klarus Mi7 Review
The Klarus Mi7 is a very bright compact flashlight - one of the brightest in its segment. It includes the must-have features like strobe and SOS while being compatible with both 14500 and double AA batteries. It is durable and waterproof, and would be very reliable in any setting.
