The NiteCore SRT7 (aka Revenger) is one of the more unique tactical flashlights on the market. The SRT7 is part of NiteCore’s SmartRing Tactical series which features a rotating wheel for selecting the different modes and outputs.

Like many other NiteCore flashlights like the NiteCore P12 and NiteCore MH12, the SRT7 is incredibly bright, has good throw and a pretty good battery runtime.

The SRT7 Revenger is best for:

  • Hunting
  • Law Enforcement, Security or Policing
  • Military

Specifications

Output and Runtime

The SRT7 Revenger flashlight has two main modes: turbo and lower:

  • Turbo
    • Output: 960 lumens
    • Runtime: 1 hour and 45 minutes (1x18650) or 1 hour and 15 minutes (2xCR123)
  • Lower:
    • Output: 0.1 lumens
    • Runtime: 200 hours (1x18650) or 120 hours (2xCR123)

On the spec sheet, it may look like the SRT7 NiteCore only has two types of outputs - but the Smart Ring Technology allows you to rotate its ring to adjust the output from anywhere in between turbo and lower.

This feature is incredibly versatile and can potentially give you longer runtimes by adjusting the output to exactly what is needed.

Throw / Beam Distance

The NiteCore SRT7 Revenger flaslight has a maximum throw distance of 308 meters with the CREE XM-L2 T6 LED bulb. The colored LED bulbs cannot reach as far but has its use for close-up distances.

Peak Beam Intensity

The SRT7 has a peak beam intensity of 23,256 candela per lumen (cd/lm).

Special Features

Special features include tail stand, dual output with colored LEDs and infinitely variable brightness via its rotating ring.

Colors

Another unique aspect of the SRT7 are the multiple colored LEDs offering beams in red, green, blue - and even blue-ish green.

Battery

The NiteCore SRT7 Revenger is compatible with one 18650 battery or 2 CR123 batteries. Like other tactical flashlights, we recommend going with a single 18650 battery for reliability and significantly longer runtimes.

The flashlight has reverse polarity protection in case of misproper battery installation.

Durability and Material

Similar to the P12 and MH12, the SRT7 is made with aircraft grade aluminum alloy that is HAIII military grade hard-anodized. The LED features coated reflectors to a solid beam with surround spill. Its coated mineral glass is very scratch resistant.

The battery casing is spring loaded for proper impact resistance.

Impact Resistance

The SRT7 NiteCore has up to 1.5 meters of impact resistance.

Water proof / Water-resistant

The NiteCore SRT7 Revenger flashlight is waterproof and submersible to 2 meters with an IPX-8 rating.

Size and weight

The Revenger is very compact and lightweight:

  • Head Diamter: 40 mm
  • Length: 158 mm
  • Tail Diamater: 25.4 mm
  • Weight: 173 grams weighed without a battery

Accessories

As a standard, the NiteCore SRT7 comes with a light nylon holster to clip on your belt. It also comes with an anti-roll ring, spare O-rings and cap switch, and removable wrist strap / lanyard.

There extra accessories you can buy separately, like NiteCore’s pressure switch, bicycle mount or external battery charger.

Conclusion: Our NiteCore SRT7 Review

The NiteCore SRT7 is a very unique flashlight with its rotating wheel, color LEDs and built-in tail stand. We highly recommend the SRT7 Revenger if you need to have a precise lumen output. While the throw of the colored LEDs aren’t as good as the CREE one, the multi-functionality makes it convenient to not have to add or buy an additional colored lens.

With its maximum high output, beam / spill combination from its reflectors and SRT system - the NiteCore SRT7 won’t let you down.
