Reviews

The NEBO Seven Z is a great medium-size flashlight perfect for general outdoor activities. The Seven Z flashlight is designed by company in Texas and manufacturedd in China. We recommend the Seven Z for those looking for an excellent, balanced, bright and med-size flashlight.

Specifications

The Seven Z flashlight offers light outputs based on the number of double AA batteries you have in the flashlight - thanks to its Flex Power technology.

The Flex Power Technology is useful when you’re in an emergency situation, like a power outage and you only have a handful of batteries available.

It has a max capacity of 9 batteries and the minumum number you can have in the flashlight is 3.

Maximum Throw Distance

The NEBO Seven Z has a maximum throw distance of 322 hours on high mode with 9 double AA batteries installed.

Functionality

The NEBO Seven Z Flashlight is pretty user-friendly with a simple one button functionality. There is a single tail-switch button. You can fully press it to turn it off and on and half-press or soft touch to switch between high and low modes.

The tail-switch is also glow-in-the-dark.

Unfortunately the light does not have SOS or strobe mode.

Adjustable Zoom

The Seven Z has a very useful 6x adjustable zoom lens that can narrow or widen the beam by twisting the bezel. The most narow setting makes for a great spot beam while the widest setting is great for a flood beam with lots of spill.

Batteries

As mentioned before, the Seven Z is compatible with either 3, 6 or 9 double AA batteries. While the runtimes may not be as long - or the output be as consistant as a single 18650 battery, the convenience and accessbility of double AA batteries make up for it.

The Flex Power Technology is great for emergency situations where you may not have enough batteries for a max output. You can also extend the runtimes even further by using only 3 batteries at a time in low mode - rather than all 9 at once.

Accessories

This particular flashlight does not have any accessories but the package from Amazon does come with a box with a nice foam outline - great for storing your light. It also comes with the manual and 1 year manufacturer warranty - which is always good to have.

Material and Durability

Durability

The Seven Z, like many flashlights, is made with anodized aircraft grade aluminum. The NEBO website says it is impact and water resistant but I would still be careful since it doesn’t list any IPX rating or impact measurements.

Dimensions

  • Weight: 1 lb and 4 oz (567 grams)
  • Length: 9.6 inches / 24 cm

Conclusion: Our NEBO Seven Z Review

Overall, the NEBO Seven Z is a great medium size flashlight. While not suited for tactical settings, we highly recommend the Seven Z for general outdoor activities, like camping or night walks. The zoomable lens makes the flashlight very flexible and the single-button functionality is intuitive.

We recommend you check out the bundle from Amazon!
