Functionality

The Pelican 7100 has a user programmable tail switch with five different modes. The push-button tail switch allows for constant or momentary on. One full press activates constant on mode, or you can lightly press the switch for momentary on or to change modes. To activate the programmable mode, lightly press the switch and hold until the light flashes.

This allows you to customize the order of lighting brightness displayed by your flashlight. By simply pressing the tail switch a certain number of times this light allows you to choose the most practical combination of lighting for each individual user.

This phenomenal EDC also features a battery level indicator between the collar and the head with different color lights that indicate the percentage of battery power remaining as well as a rotating collar to cover and expose USB charging port.

Size

The Pelican 7100 is a compact high performance flashlight measuring just over 5 inches long with a 1.1 inch head diameter and a 0.8 inch body diameter. It can easily be carried in a front pants pocket, a small bag, or glove compartment for convenience of everyday carry. With the battery installed this light weighs about 4.4 ounces. Without the battery it is around 3.6 ounces.

Water Proof / Water Resistance

Like many high quality Pelican flashlights, the 7100 is IPX-8 rated waterproof and submersible up to 1 meters underwater for 30 minutes.

Impact Resistance

The body is made from type III anodized aluminum housing rendering it temperature, corrosion, and impact resistant up to 1 meter. It features a crenellated bezel. If the light is dropped or banged a few times it is likely to survive with little marks or scratches.
