It’s worth noting the fact that Streamlight has measured it’s intensity and throw distance for the two outputs. Companies generally only list a flashlight’s max output and sometimes those are not at all accurate.

The 88040 is compatible with CR123A lithium-ion (li-ion) batteries and requires two of them to power the flashlight. They are non-rechargeable
Keep in mind that the 88040 750 lumen model is not compatible with rechargeable batteries.
